How do I find the date of birth from an Egyptian national ID?
The first digit gives the century (2 for 1900s, 3 for 2000s) and the next six give the year, month and day. 2 900101 … means 1 January 1990.
How do I know the gender from the national ID?
Look at the 13th digit, the second to last. Odd means male, even means female.
What do digits 8 and 9 mean?
The governorate where the birth was registered, for example 01 Cairo, 02 Alexandria, 21 Giza, and 88 for births abroad.
